During a weekend in Warsaw, Poland I visited the Leica Gallery (http://en.leica-camera.com/World-of-Leica/Leica-Galleries/Leica-Gallery-Warsaw/About-us-Gallery-Warsaw – accessed 28.2.15) and viewed the exposition “One” by Szymon Brodziak. “One” is book of almost 400 pages of black and white photographs that summarises the last 10 years of his activity. His website, gives brief ‘about’ information (http://www.szymonbrodziak.com/about.php – accessed 28.2.15).
The images in the exposition were graphic black and white, featuring attractive female models, often with a degree of eroticism, and related to product advertising. Brodziak’s moto is “What you see, is who you are” and is perhaps not meant to be taken literally in the case of these images!
I’m not sure if it is possible for men to view images of attractive women entirely objectively, but I was impressed by the extremes of contrast in the images and their dramatic compositions and found the exposition engaging.
